2. what worked

The onboarding is smooth. Picking a niche, letting it auto-suggest subreddits, and hitting "Start Mining" takes under two minutes. No confusion.

The UI is genuinely cool. It looks like you are running CIA intelligence ops: dark, structured, purposeful. The scan output feels like a real intelligence brief, not a generic dashboard.

The pain points felt real. "AI newsletters lack originality" and "newsletters with real niche expertise are hard to find": both validated frustrations I recognized from Reddit firsthand. The signal-to-noise ratio was better than expected for an early product.

The community report goes deep: suggested solutions, market angles, cost-effective alternatives. More than I expected at this price point.

3. what did not work

Dark mode contrast is rough. Text is hard to read; my eyes were burning by the end. A light mode toggle is the single highest-priority fix.

You can't see the source Reddit posts. There is no link back to the actual threads, so you cannot verify the AI is not hallucinating. Trust but verify; right now you can only trust.

Auth is password-only. Magic link or Google auth would reduce signup friction significantly.

The 90-day historical limit feels short. Older threads often contain the most upvoted, most validated frustrations.

4. verdict

ThreddIQ's idea is solid: let Reddit tell you what to build instead of guessing. The scan worked, the pain points felt real, and the design is genuinely cool. Three things to fix: add a light mode, link out to the actual Reddit posts, and add Google auth.

Not paying for it today. It is too early. But the value proposition is real and the execution is promising. I will be back when it matures.

Best for: solo founders and indie hackers who want to validate a niche before building; want Reddit's honest opinion instead of survey-filtered answers.
