Memelord
2026-03-281. what it does
The editor gives you a library of trending and classic templates. You pick one, add your text, and export. You can also generate memes by calling the API with a template ID and caption text. The API returns image or video output.
There is a Claude Code skill available that wraps the API into a slash command.
2. what worked
The editor is clean. The template library is large. Finding a template is easy.
The API works well. Once I had a template ID, Claude Code generated the integration without issues. The Claude Code skill made it even smoother: one slash command to generate and post.
Video meme output quality is solid. The generated file was ready to post directly to X.
3. what did not work
Template IDs are not visible in the UI. You cannot copy a template ID from the editor to use in the API. I had to discover IDs through the API explorer separately.
A "copy template ID" button next to each template in the editor would fix this entirely.
4. verdict
Memelord is fun and the API is solid. The only friction point is the gap between the visual editor and the API. Fix template ID discoverability and this becomes a seamless workflow.
Best for: developers or marketers automating meme creation and publishing as part of a content pipeline.
