Good morning, Internet!

Yesterday, I went to the hair dresser. I forgot to mention it yesterday, but could be useful to keep track of it.

This morning, I'll explore more this Palmframe thing. What could an operating system for startups look like?

My first failing experiment was as early as yesterday afternoon. I wanted to keep track of analytics of follows on X, but couldn't find any solution that doesn't involve giving tons of cash to X.

Therefore, I'll abandon this idea of tracking follows on X. Instead, there may be even more valuable things to do.

I listened to a (french) podcast yesterday showcasing Jean de la Rochebrochard, where the host complained about Intercom doing too many things, like making $500M/year in revenue. I didn't check his assertion about revenue, but it's a good point.

Let's get back to Palmframe. Some member of my Discord server works at Nango, a tool facilitating integration of APIs. It'd be ideal for Palmframe, the operating system for startups.

So, let's pick a stack. Let's say React Router, ShadCN UI (with BaseUI), Drizzle ORM, Better Auth, PostgreSQL, and Nango.

How do I make Palmframe really useful? And not a nice-to-have. I have no clue.

A better thing to do, according to DHH and Jason Fried, is to copy an existing product, and make it better. If I did, I couldn't doubt that people pay for it.

There are some products like Slack which have a deep moat (Slack Connect in the case of Slack). But is really the case for all the other products? For instance, Notion is a great product, but I don't think it has a deep moat. I won't do such a thing as Notion though.

ffmpeg-as-a-service? That's crowded, but maybe there are angles worth exploring. "Palmframe" would suite well for it.
